From Wednesday, September 4th, to Saturday, September 7th, there will be several shows every evening that present the diversity of improvised theater. Among many others, you can enjoy these exciting two shows:
Astronomy Club is one of the hottest teams in New York City right now! They perform a weekly show at the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and have their own award-winning show on Comedy Central, which makes them one of the most successful, groundbreaking teams in the US improv scene. At Fliegende Funken Festival they present their show It’s in the Stars.
In Playing with the Enemy with Inbal Lori (ISR) and Zaki Zikani (*), two performers from states that are enemies, are playing together. They combine their unique styles in an exciting improv show in which the respective perspectives, taboos and stigmas of their countries are challenged creatively, playfully and without restraint.
We also look forward to the particular energy of all the shows with teams comprised and directed by our international guests, many being luminaries of improvisational theater today. Lou Gonzalez, for example, is working with selected artists on a show entitled “Family.”
On the opening night, 4th September, the audience will get to know all workshop teachers of the festival in a big lottery: If you feel like it, you can throw our name in the ring and if you’re luck enough and your name is drawn, you can then improvise together with our international guests on stage.
Our shows will be published here very soon.
